Birth Doula Support

IMG_0578.heic

Birth can be an empowering and transformative experience. As a doula, I am honored to support families in these important moments. My hope is for mothers to feel safe, strong, and supported and their partners to feel confident, informed and equally important in the birth process. Most of my experience has been in out-of-hospital midwifery care settings. I have trained as a birth assistant and learned more about the clinical aspects and the tremendous work that providers do to support moms and babies during birth. I have also attended spinning babies to learn more about the body and positioning to help support mom's comfort and the process naturally.

Each pregnancy, family and birth is unique and wonderful in it’s own way, so each birth plan and journey will vary! I feel confident supporting women in following their bodies and offering responsive comfort measures. This includes guiding partners in support ideas as they ultimately have the best connection. I believe every mother deserves to be well informed of her options, have autonomy of her experience, and make the choices that feel best.

The energy of birth can feel intense and powerful. Part of my role is offering grounding and calm, while encouraging and guiding mom and partner. Doula support can improve satisfaction with birth outcomes and help families to have an exciting, joyful, beginning!

As your doula, I provide 2 prenatal visits to discuss your birth preferences, get to know you better, and explore some ideas for coping well during labor. I am on call between 37 and 42 weeks, and excited to hear from you along the way and when it’s time to welcome your baby! 2 additional home visits are provided postpartum to reconnect, offer you space to share your birth story, help with lactation or bottle feeding, and assess any additional resources.

I support families with birth plans that include home-birth, birth center, and hospital births. I’m always happy to connect and answer questions. Please reach out!
